Meditate With A Monk

Enjoy the Saturday morning while practicing meditation with a Buddhist monk in Irvine.

Meditation is undoubtedly one of the top 5 activities that come to mind when thinking about mindfulness and personal well-being.

Meditate with a Monk is a program designed to achieve this very purpose for individuals from all walks of life, ages, and skill levels in meditation.

The event takes place in an outdoor setting (weather permitting) in the beautiful City of Irvine- CA every other Saturday morning. Conducted by a Buddhist monk ordained under the Theravada Buddhist philosophy, the program not only outlines the types of meditation and benefits of each, but also connects the practice seamlessly to core principles of awareness or mindfulness (as taught in the Theravada Buddhist philosophy), which in turn allows the participant to constantly be aware of the negative states in the mind and take corrective action.

All in all, it is not just practicing focus but also learning how the focus allows us to shed negative states of the mind, which in turn creates room for a relaxed, energized, and cheerful lifestyle.
Spanning 90 minutes, the event caters to 3-4 short meditation sessions accompanied by a short discussion or narrative about the why, what, and how of each technique.

Walk-ins are always welcome, or one can subscribe via Meetup  or Eventbrite. This is a service for the benefit of our communities, offered with loving kindness (Metta) by the Dhammawood Meditation Center of California. It is totally free of charge to the participant.

Dhammawood Meditation Center conducts this meditation session every other Saturday in Irvine from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.
