One-Day
Meditation Retreat

Join us on Saturday, April 29th, for a one-day retreat on meditation and mindfulness at Sweet Shade Ability Center in Sweet Shade Park. This retreat is designed to help you deepen your meditation practice and connect with your inner self.

The retreat begins at 9:30 am with our regular Saturday program, including guided meditations and teachings on meditation and mindfulness. The day will be led by two Buddhist Monks who will guide the retreat in a secular way. You will have the opportunity to participate in various meditation sessions throughout the day, such as walking meditation, silent meditation, and mindful movement.

During the retreat, you will be offered lunch. The Monks will guide you to practice mindful eating during the meal. Moreover, you will have more time to talk personally with the monks, ask your questions and deepen your understanding of meditation and mindfulness.

This retreat takes place in a peaceful and serene setting, and we hope you will join us for a day of self-exploration and inner peace.

Schedule:

  • 9:30 – 11:00  Regular Saturday program
  • 11:15 – 12:00 Lunch (Mindful Eating) *Lunch will be offered.

* Cushions and Chairs will be provided to have a comfortable meditation session. You can meditate comfortably with like-minded people.

Walk-ins are always welcome, or you can reserve your spot by registering through this form. This is a service for the benefit of our communities, offered with loving kindness (Metta) by the Dhammawood Meditation Center of California. It is free of charge to the participant.

Throughout the day, our teachers will be available to offer guidance and support, as well as answer any questions you may have about your practice. They will share their knowledge and experience of meditation from their perspective as Buddhist monks, but again, this is not a religious event, and the teachings will be presented in a secular way.

As the day comes to a close, we will gather together for a final meditation and reflection session. You will leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and with a renewed sense of inner peace and calm.

We hope you will join us for this transformative experience and look forward to sharing this day of meditation and mindfulness with you.
